Humanities/Art
Throughout the entire "Social Enlightenment" project, I am most proud of mine and Sammy Bentley's art piece. (right)
There was a lot of brainstorming, and really thinking about the execution and message we wanted to convey with the peice. I really like how it turned out, and we both think that it portrays the dissapearance of the middle class very well. If we had more time to work on the painting, I would have actually painted the family onto the canvas. We ran out of time, and we had to laser cut the family, and then paint the peice of wood. I was in 2 work groups for this project; the first was in art with Sammy Bentley, and the second in Humanities with Chandler Corey, Railynn Balignasay, Evan McDuffy, and Ben Callaway. With Sammy, we split the painting and modge-podging pretty evenly. We both painted about half the painting. With Chandler, Ben, Evan, and Railynn, the work wasn't split that evenly. Ben, Railynn, and I did the majority of the writing, but we all had main speaking parts for the performance. For next years exhibiton, I would like to stay as organized as I was this year. There was a lot less stress than in the past, and I was prepared for all things. A HOHAM that I actively used throughout the whole exhibition process, was Self-Advocasy. I was prepared, organized, and ready to handle problems when they arrived. For example, Evan had volunteered to play a part in another groups play after their group member was unable to perform. When we had to rehearse without Evan, I was prepared with printed out scripts and encouraged more run-throughs. (To the right is a picture of my performance group) (I'm the ginger in the middle) |
